AI policy
AI policy
Where’s Anu uses AI behind the scenes, to build the site and to enter events. This page says where, and where a person stays in charge.
Building the site
The site is built and maintained with Claude, Anthropic’s AI, working under my direction. Every change is checked automatically and tried on a test copy of the site first, and only I can put a change on the live site.
Entering events
- Claude enters most events. It reads organizers’ public pages, such as Meetup, Luma, Eventbrite and their own websites, and enters each event’s details on the calendar.
- I approve every batch. Claude proposes its changes as a batch. Nothing in it reaches the public site until I’ve read the list and approved it myself, and every change is recorded under my name, never Claude’s.
- What passes through AI. Organizers’ public listings, including the names of the people at their events, pass through Anthropic’s AI tools as Claude reads them. The privacy policy lists Anthropic among the companies that handle information for Where’s Anu.
On the site itself
The website has no AI features: no chatbot, and nothing you do on it is sent to an AI service.
AI tools reading the site
- Search engines and AI assistants. On wheresanu.ca, the robots.txt file lets them read the public pages, including the crawlers that gather words to train AI models. The admin, readers’ own pages and sign-in are off limits to every crawler.
- llms.txt. A plain-text map of the site and the events coming up, for AI tools, at wheresanu.ca/llms.txt. A longer one, llms-full.txt, adds Anu’s takes and past events.
- Test copies. Copies of the site for testing are hidden from every crawler.
