Who runs it

Where’s Anu is published by 9181873 Canada Ltd., doing business as Grey Sky Tech (“Grey Sky Tech”, “we” or “us”). Anu Jolliffe lists every event he knows about, and curates them with his plan and his take.

What it is, and what it isn’t

• A list of events run by other people. Organizers post their events on Meetup, Luma, Eventbrite and their own websites. We bring them together here, and every event links back to its organizer.
• Not a ticket seller. We don’t sell tickets, take registrations or run the events we list. You register with the people running each event, on their terms.
• The organizer has the final word. Dates, times, places, prices and line-ups change, and events get cancelled. If our page and the organizer’s don’t match, theirs is right. Check with them before you go.
• Anu’s words are his opinion. “I’m going”, “Recommended”, “Just sharing” and his takes are what he thinks of an event, not a promise about it. Being listed doesn’t mean the people at an event, or their employers, endorse it or this site.
• Sending us an event. Send only links to public event pages. Anu decides what to list and how to describe it, and may not list an event, or may take one down later. Sending an event doesn’t make you its organizer on the site.

Your account

You don’t need an account to use the calendar. Where signing in is offered:

• You sign in with LinkedIn, using your own LinkedIn account. We get your name, email address and photo from LinkedIn. You can use another email address instead, once you’ve confirmed it with the code we send.
• People pages. People named on events can have a People page. You may ask to be connected only to your own. Anu approves every connection himself, and he can turn one down.
• Disconnecting. You can disconnect your People page at any time, from your account. The page stays on Where’s Anu as it is, and connecting it again needs Anu’s approval.
• Deleting. You can delete your account at any time, from your account. It removes what came from LinkedIn and your sign-in. Your People page stays, as it was before you joined.

Fair use

When you use Where’s Anu, follow the house rules. We may switch off an account, or turn down a request, that breaks them.

Whose words are whose

• Ours. The site’s own words, its look, and Anu’s takes belong to 9181873 Canada Ltd. You’re welcome to share a link to any page, and to quote a take in a few lines, as long as you credit Anu and link back to it.
• The organizers’. Each event’s name, details and picture come from its organizer’s public listing, and belong to them. We quote them with credit, and link back to the listing.
• The maps’. Event maps are drawn from OpenStreetMap’s data: map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database Licence (in a new tab).

If something on Where’s Anu is yours and you’d like it changed or taken down, write to us at privacy@mail.wheresanu.ca.

Links to other sites

Event pages link to other sites, such as organizers’ own pages, Eventbrite, Luma, Meetup and LinkedIn. We don’t run those sites, and we aren’t responsible for what they say or do. They have their own terms and privacy policies.

No warranty

We work to keep every listing right, but we can’t promise it is. Where’s Anu is offered “as is”, free, with no warranty of any kind: that it’s accurate, complete or up to date, or that it will always be there.

Limits of liability

As far as the law allows, Grey Sky Tech isn’t responsible for any loss or harm that comes from using Where’s Anu or relying on it, such as an event that moved, changed or was cancelled. The events are run by their organizers, and what happens at them is up to the people running them. Nothing in these terms takes away a right the law gives you that can’t be taken away.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms as the site grows. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using Where’s Anu after a change, the new terms apply.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
