Two days, a strong lineup, and a lot of it is about people. Ed Hoffman, NASA's first Chief Knowledge Officer, opens with what NASA learned about keeping knowledge from walking out the door, there's fresh UBC research on who gets trusted and recognized on project teams, a Friday session by fellow Victoria Data Society board member Cynthia Lynam (in a new tab) on building AI governance that works for your organization (in a new tab), and Precious Ile closes it out on storytelling that gets a room of stakeholders on the same page. That's where I'd put the focus too, it's almost never the technology.
I did my Certificate in Project Management at UBC, so happy to see they're a top sponsor of this year's event. Before I moved to Victoria I went to this one every year.
I'll be there bright and early on Friday, running an extended From Chaos to Control: Building a Secure Operating Model for Knowledge Work with Microsoft 365 for Business and Copilot (in a new tab) workshop. Fantastic opportunity to get PDUs and leave with something you can put to work on Tuesday, 'cause change management is not a Monday thing.
